SALZBURG: EXCURSION TO BAD GASTEIN

Today we leave Salzburg early by train to spend the day in and around Bad Gastein. After our arrival at this famous place of hot springs, which came to prominence during the last century when Kaiser Franz Joseph used to enjoy its amenities, we take the cable car to the top of the Stubnerkogel and hike towards one of the other nearby peaks to enjoy the grandiose views and to work up an appetite. Upon returning to Bad Gastein, we enjoy a leisurely afternoon in the different hot springs before returning with a late train to our hotel in Salzburg.
