Our second day in Algonquin Park…

For some time already, the birds announce the imminent sunrise. As the sky changes slowly from a deep restful dark to tones of gray, we still have time to enjoy the warmth of our sleeping bags.

We have been hearing the hiss of the small stove not too far from our tent and now the smell of freshly brewed coffee definitely tells us that it is time to get up.

Our  camping place is very centrally located and we have our choice of several different destinations for our day trip.

We may portage our canoes to another lake, explore its quiet bays, have lunch there and then return late in the afternoon.

We may find a secluded waterfall and enjoy the refreshing water before returning to our camp site.

We may just wish to spend the day on our island and enjoy the quiet, the sand and the water.
