The Drive into the Wilderness...

It is a 7 am departure from Toronto to your five day canoeing adventure in Algonquin Park.  We'll pass many sights and landmarks along the way.

Eventually after a few pit stops, we arrive at our base camp on Kawawaymog Lake. 

We are met by and introduced to the friendly staff at base camp. They are eager, knowledgeable young people who will do their best to make our stay pleasant.

We unload our personal gear and take it to our cabins.


Base Camp at Algonquin Park

So that we are all up properly educated on what we will be doing on this trip we have demonstrations and practice runs with,
  • putting up our tents with our tent partners
  • preparing special canoe packs 
  • measured for our paddles 
  • fitted with our own PFD
  • we get some tips on proper canoe handling and carrying (portaging) 
  • paddling and steering techniques

After a delicious meal, last minute items are packed away before everyone retires to their cabin for the night.
